Spring is Here!

It was 17 degrees today! The sun is melting the snow here at Allen Acres and everybody is very happy about that.

I grew up on a horse. My horses name was Silver. She was a gem. I rode bareback as putting the heavy saddle on was just too much work and I didn't want to wait for my dad to have to get home to help me. Silver and I were best friends. She put up with so much from me! From bad haircuts that I gave her, to putting several people on her at once, she never showed anything but sweetness and patience. Silver saw me through my rough teen years, and I truly never felt as free as when I was on her back.

Many years have passed, and now I have my Dad's horses to love. I am so grateful that my father taught me to ride when I was a young girl and I cherish the memories of going on rides together.
